The method

How we pick

We don't take paid placements or sponsorships. A brand can't buy a higher rank.

We rank from public purchase and review signals: category bestseller rank, Amazon Most Gifted when it's listed, star ratings, and review counts. A person still has to say a distant relative or coworker would give this. If that check fails, the item is out.

We don't have Circana or Nielsen. Amazon's Choice, Sponsored slots, coupons, and badge ads are ignored. They are not inputs.

This catalog is a seed. Scores were set from public lists by hand. They are not live API pulls. A weekly job can refresh them from Amazon PA-API and retailer bestsellers when those keys exist. The keys are not set up yet, so nothing here updates on a timer. We do not pull nightly. Gift demand does not swing every day, and nightly bestseller noise would shuffle the top five without a real change.

When a real capture exists, the score is 45% purchase demand, 25% review proof, 20% gift demand, and 10% 90-day direction. If Most Gifted is missing, the other weights stretch. Then we mix categories so five picks aren't the same toy. Popularity is sorted first.

If you buy through a link, we may earn a commission. That does not change rank. Retailer and URL are not in the formula.

If we add display ads later, they sit beside the article, not inside a pick.
